About This Project

Vlisco designs and manufactures specially crafted wax Hollandais, super-wax, and java fabrics since 1846. They distribute their products in the West and Central African market and to African consumers in global metropolitan cities. This year, they launched 14 new prints internationally during for the Ramadan season.

Vlisco was looking to reach the Nigerian Muslim women market during Ramadan 2018 and beyond via social media, and share with them their new collection in a way that is familiar, authentic and effective. Their goal was to make their audience think about Vlisco when planning their Eid outfits, sharing and gifting.

I developed a brief which met Vlisco’s key objectives and designed content which their audience could comprehend and relate to. I put together a team which consisted of a photographer, videographer, makeup artists, stylists, henna artist, models, and logistical support. I designed and produced the clothing collection for Hayati. I scouted the perfect location and worked closely with the team to ensure that the final product met Vlisco’s requirements.

I produced an editorial series, a lookbook and a Ramadan greeting video, which was shared via social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Snapchat). The campaign was well received within and outside Nigeria. The campaign was re-posted across social media, and Vlisco’s objective to reach their audience, interactive with them and influence them to think about Vlisco when planning their Eid outfits, sharing and gifting was accomplished.
