Food And Every Thing Else – Lagos

Maggi is a great brand when it comes to reinventing itself without losing its true identify and essence, and I have really enjoyed being a part of their continuous journey. Food and everything else is an event that celebrates and brings together the different industry leaders that interact frequently with Maggi, and opens up the dialogue about food, media and Maggi’s future.

So, Maggi flew my girl Jamila and I to Lagos, and we both stayed at the Maggi guesthouse in Ikeja. I loved the decor, it was really cute and had the Maggi, yellow and red, theme. When I got in, I was super hungry, so I ordered pounded yam and egusi, which was…. heavenly.

The next day, we headed out to the Polly Alakija’s studio in Ikoyi, where the event took place. If you know me, you know that I get very anxious when I’m thrown in situations where I don’t know anyone, so heading over, I was glad that I had Jamila, and I was even happier that I knew Eniola would be there as well.

Once we arrived, there was music, drinks and finger food (there was a sweet potato and coconut ball thing that was insanely TASTY!!! Lord! It was heavenly! Anyways, after mingling for a bit, we heading indoors where we all had a station equipped with a plain white mortar and paint. We were all meant to express what Maggi and food means to us. All the while, we interacted, shared stories, played games and bonded till we were all done. Oh, and of course, we got to eat while we painted as well :).

All in all, it was a great experience, and I look forward to participating in more Food and Everything Else events. Here are a few images below of what went down, as well as the mortar I painted!
